More than 1000 vipers have been born in the Hungarian Meadow Viper Centre since we launched our program. The 1000th viper, a male was born in Augustus with 146 mm birth length, and 3 g weight. Its life connects totally to the breeding program, because its parents had been born in the Centre too. 205 vipers were born at all in the centre between 29th of July, and 28th of August, from 22 breeding female. The pregnancy of the snakes was two weeks longer than in the previous years. It can be explained with the long winter and the bed weather of the second part of July. The average weight (2,4 g), length (138 mm) and the clutch size (9,2) was the same as in the past years.
