Altogether 173 Hungarian meadow vipers were born from 20 mothers between 3rd August and 6th September. Newborns are measured and photographed for a future identification, right after birth. As a result of 6 years’ successful breeding the captive population exceeded 500 individuals, which is the figure for estimated wild population size. First reintroduction is planned for 2010.
